God's desire for you
- God desires to be in relationship with you both here on Earth and for eternity in Heaven. Because God is holy and is separated from sin, any sin that you may have committed whether big or small excludes you from this
possibility. (Romans 3:23) The good news is that God has offered you a second chance through Jesus Christ. God loves you so much that he sent a very part of himself, Jesus Christ, to be crucified on a cross as a sacrifice for your
sins. (John 3:16) Jesus didn’t stop there. He not only provided forgiveness for our sins through His death but also has provided freedom from sin altogether through His resurrection. This is God's free gift of salvation that he has offered to you. All you need to do to receive it and enter back into relationship with God is to accept it. Accept the fact that God loves you, that he wants a relationship with you. Accept the fact that Jesus died as a final sacrifice for your sins, past, present, and future. Accept the fact that Jesus rose from the dead, and accept Jesus Christ into your life as your new Lord and
Savior. (Romans 10:9)
- If accepting this free gift of salvation is something that you feel you want to do but aren’t sure how to get started here is a sample prayer for you to use.
- Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and that I am undeserving of a relationship with you. But I believe that you died and rose again so that I could be forgiven of my sins and could have a relationship with you. So Lord I ask for your
forgiveness of my sins. I want to accept your free gift of salvation and I accept you into my life as my Lord and Savior. Amen.
Meeting You Where You’re At
- No matter where you are in life God wants to meet you right there. So many times people feel as though they need to clean themselves up for God, and that they shouldn’t approach Him until they do so. Nothing could be further than the truth. It doesn’t matter what you are or are not doing, if you want to grow closer to God in any way He is waiting to meet you where you are.
- So please don’t hesitate to get started. Whatever it is that you want to do God will help you to accomplish it. If you want to start going to church, go, we would love to have you. If you want to start reading your Bible, pick it up and read, God will reveal Himself to you. If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, pray and God will forgive you of your sins. No matter what is going on in your life God wants to meet you where you are.
